VoIPConsultants.biz Looking Forward to Continued Growth

By Rich Tehrani
President and Editor-in-Chief

VoIPConsultants.biz, LLC is an agency for private label VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services in the United States. The company provides services to its clients, such as testing a business plan to putting them in business with industry leading VoIP carriers, and more. VoIPConsultants’ clients range from independent cable operators and CLECs to “Pure Play” VoIP providers who desire to sell VoIP services under their own brand.

I had the opportunity to catch up with Steve Safley, President of VoIPConsultants.BIZ (News - Alert). Safley shared some insight into what his company is up to and how they expect 2008 to shape up.

RT: What has been your company’s biggest achievement in 2007?
SS: We positioned the company as “go-to” agency for private label services having worked with over 50 clients last year. We are now receiving inquiries from off-shore clients.

RT: What can we expect to see from your company in 2008?
SS: We will continue to grow the business significantly both domestically and internationally, as the number of clients we work with increases. We will also begin to expand relationships with Master agencies who want a leading edge solution for their agents.

RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?
SS: We’ve seen an explosion in interest in the Hosted PBX business model, most notably in the private label sector.

RT: How do you think the future of the market looks?
SS: We are very bullish based on the interest level of our clients who want to private label service to their customers.

RT: Are you growing more quickly in the U.S. or abroad?
SS: We are focused in the U.S. currently, but have begun to work with offshore clients. We hope to expand that in 2008.

RT: Do you see the large service providers like Verizon, AT&T (News - Alert) and cable companies as allies or enemies?
SS: Enemies might be a bit harsh. Certainly, they are competitors who are trying to stifle the adoption of newer technologies in favor of their legacy systems and capabilities.

RT: Are hosted solutions changing your corporate strategy?
SS: Our agency is all about private label Hosted VoIP.

RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?
SS: Greater penetration of Hosted VoIP into both the consumer and commercial sectors with alternative wireless technologies eroding land line business. Traditional ISP’s as we know them today will cease to exist as their contracts with the RBOC’s expire. That may change if the democrats carry the White House in 2008, however.

RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO (News - Alert) this month?
SS: We will be showcasing what we believe is the pre-eminent Service Delivery Platform for private label VoIP service.

RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?
SS: Companies that desire to private label VoIP services under their own brand and agents who want to bring the future to their telecom customers.

RT: Why should customers choose your company’s solutions?
SS: First, we represent some of, if not the pre-eminent provider(s) of private label VoIP services who can provide services both in the U.S. and to 40+ international countries. Two, we have and continue to help our clients test the soundness of their business plan, which is something most carriers could care less about. Three, we make sure that our clients and the carrier(s) we match them with have a win-win relationship. Negotiating a contract with a carrier should not be a contest and many of our clients don’t have previous experience in negotiating a private label agreement.

RT: Please make one surprising prediction for 2008.
SS: Sprint (News - Alert) will be bought out by a cable company.
