MegaPath Unveils SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN Service

By Niladri Sekhar Nath
TMCnet Contributing Editor

Small business now will be able to increase productivity and grow their business with MegaPath (News - Alert) Inc. introducing SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN service for small-to-medium-sized businesses. SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN offers enhanced performance and security akin to that of company's Enterprise Site-to-Site MPLS VPN.

MegaPath's SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN service offers businesses a much lower total cost of Ownership than other similar services. MegaPath provides businesses with a broad range of access technologies, including ADSL, IDSL, SDSL, Cable, T1, T3 and Satellite, to make sure that each site gets the right amount of bandwidth.

In addition, users won’t have to buy any equipment. They will have to pay just $30 per month for broadband or $100 per month for T1/T3, plus a nominal per customer set-up fee, besides the access pricing. Business owners will have the freedom to prioritize performance sensitive applications, such as Voice Over IP (VoIP), and business-critical data over basic web and email traffic as well.

MegaPath also offers network-based Managed Security Services (Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Intrusion (News - Alert) Prevention and Content Filtering) in association with its SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN service to help customers ensure the security of their applications, data and systems, while increasing productivity.

MegaPath makes use of its nationwide MPLS fiber optic network to provide Quality of Service (QoS) and IPsec integration to deliver 100% coverage for all of its customers' locations. MegaPath's DSL, satellite and T1/T3 circuits always ensure privacy of the users, therefore customers' VPN traffic does not pass through the public Internet and is safeguarded from Internet-based attacks. The company uses IPsec encryption to protect customer traffic from sites connected via cable or customer-provided Internet access, helping MegaPath extend the reach of its SecureConnect Site-to-Site VPN service to any site on the public Internet.

"Cost and complexity has forced many smaller businesses to neglect implementing solutions that can help increase their security and productivity, and MegaPath is taking steps to provide these companies with all of the features and benefits that larger companies can afford without requiring them to make huge investments," said Jim Cragg, President at MegaPath. "This new MPLS VPN service is MegaPath's latest SMB solution designed to deliver enterprise functionality within a fully managed, cost effective service, and we are already seeing significant demand from businesses nationwide."
