Thirdlane Signs Distribution Deal with VoIP Provider ABP Technology

By Spencer D. Chin

ABP (News - Alert) Technology, a distributor of open standards based VoIP products, has signed a multi-year master distribution agreement with Thirdlane; the software developer of PBX Manager for Asterisk (News - Alert) or Asterisk Business Edition.

Alex Epshteyn, president of Thirdlane, said in a statement, "We are delighted that ABP has selected our product to sell and promote it to its reseller partners. ABP is an ideal partner for us because they provide marketing expertise, tech-support and training required to help resellers become successful. For us it's also great to work with one company that can cover the Asterisk community from Alaska to Argentina like they do."

Robert Messer, president of ABP Technology, said in a statement, "PBX manager makes Asterisk and Asterisk Business Edition truely an easy to use and user friendly PBX (News - Alert). We are impressed with Thirdlane's product line, especially by the fact that a single product and vendor offers a product that can be used for customer premise based solutions in small businesses all the way to a small hosted PBX solution that resellers can manage for a part of their customer base.”

According to Messer, the product is indicative the blurring now occurring between resellers and managed service providers.

"We see this as a great complement to larger scale carrier or third party hosted PBX solutions where the reseller may need more control over the application. Our resellers are consultative sales people and are the most successful the more choices they have to provide their customer with the most appropriate solution."
