Broadsoft, a global provider of voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) applications to telecommunications industry, has been selected by RoutIT, a Dutch wholesale infrastructure service provider (ISP), to deliver voice and multimedia services in Netherlands.

RoutIT is an autonomous application infrastructure service provider (AISP) offering a wide range of connectivity, security, hosting and storage services to more than 500 system integrators and 20,000 businesses in the Netherlands. RoutIT uses an indirect model approach via partners to develop and implement solutions for customers.

As per the agreement with Broadsoft, RoutIT is deploying the BroadWorks platform to enrich the service offerings with IP Centrex telephone services. BroadWorks is an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-compliant platform that provides a comprehensive range of VoIP applications, including hosted PBX (News - Alert)/IP Centrex, mobile PBX, business trunking and residential broadband services fully integrated into a single VoIP application platform.

BroadWorks platform offers higher reliability, redundancy, scalability and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class service on these applications, the company said.

RoutIT is also using BroadSoft (News - Alert) Xtended program to allow its resellers to customize applications for specific enterprise workflow requirements. BroadSoft Xtended brings together the carrier-grade BroadWorks voice applications with the leading Web 2.0 solutions. BroadSoft Xtended is giving voice to Web 2.0, the company said.

“We evaluated a number of suppliers for our IP Centrex service,” said Jan Hein de Baat, CEO of RoutIT, in a statement. “Really there was only one choice for us as RoutIT only works with market leaders and needed a system that was designed from the start to support a wholesale service model.”

“The fact that we can combine the BroadSoft platform with other industry leading suppliers with complete confidence re-enforced our decision,” added de Baat.

Craig Decker, vice president of sales for BroadSoft, said: “RoutIT joins more than 90 operators who have deployed BroadWorks in the European, Middle East and African regions. The combination of the BroadWorks Xtended program and application customization will be extremely powerful for the fast growing Dutch market.”

RoutIT plans to deploy the service at customer locations by the end of 2008.
