IP-Converge and Cordia Partner to Launch Managed VoIP in Philippines

Cordia Corp, a communications service provider of traditional competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) and VoIP technologies announced a reseller agreement with IP-Converge (IPC).

IPC provides data center and telecommunications services and has operations and facilities in the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong.

“We are elated to have Cordia as a partner for VoIP services,” said Percival de los Reyes, senior vice president for sales at IP-Converge, in a statement. “Their array of products and services augur well with IPC's thrust to empower business through IP technology.”

Compared to own data and VoIP service network, a fully managed service comes at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Benefits of managed VoIP include low or no up-front capital expenditures, predictable operating expense, no maintenance or management costs.

Also the cost of calls are low as with VoIP, calls are routed over the Internet, avoiding a significant portion of regulated costs associated with the public telephone network. Additionally, there is no tradeoff in quality either.

“More and more companies are now using IP-based business solutions and telecommunications for their operations, and we see this becoming a standard across enterprises and organization,” de los Reyes. “This gives us an excellent opportunity to address the market together with Cordia.”

Cordia, through its operating subsidiaries, offers local and long distance telecommunications services in more than sixty (60) countries. Using both wireline and VoIP technologies, it caters to business, residential, and wholesale customers.

“We have been expanding our Philippine based operations over the past year and half by adding a customer service department to support our US CLEC operations and continuing to grow our outbound telemarketing sales network,” said Kevin Griffo, president of Cordia, in a statement.

The license from IPC will allow Cordia to offer full deployment of managed data services and VoIP services to business and residential customers.

“This new agreement with IPC will now allow us to take advantage of their license in the Philippines and continue our global expansion of offering voice and data services along with the existing efforts taking place in Brazil, India and Hong Kong.”

Griffo said. “The Philippine market is rich with opportunity for Cordia to establish itself as a leading internet telephone company. We expect to develop a strong agent network as well as hire a direct sales group in the Philippines to target not only the residential market but also the enterprise business customer which we can offer dedicated access products and data services.”

For business customers considering on-premise VoIP, a fully managed service offers additional benefits in terms of service quality, security, reliability, business continuity and disaster recovery, scalability and, availability of customized and Web portal-based communication management applications, such as wide area network management, automated call distribution, call detail records analysis and more.
