Cablevision Delivers Advanced Internet Security Tools
By Anil Sharma TMCnet Contributing Editor Cablevision has come out with a major upgrade to the free online security services the company makes available to its Optimum (News - Alert) Online customers, to help protect against the growing number of online threats that can jeopardize privacy and diminish PC performance.
Available immediately for download through the Optimum.net consumer Web portal, the security software package, which has a retail value of $69.99, provides users with comprehensive Internet security and data protection. It includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, personal firewall
“In addition to giving our Optimum Online customers the ability to go really fast on the Internet, we want to make sure they have the tools at their disposal to go safe as well,” John Trierweiler (News - Alert), Cablevision’s senior vice president of product management said. “The addition of this enhanced Internet security suite from CA (News - Alert) is yet another value-added benefit for Cablevision customers that demonstrates our ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction and providing the best possible high-speed Internet experience.”
Optimum Online is the nation’s fastest broadly deployed Internet service for the home, and is now increasingly being chosen by small businesses as well. Optimum Online continues to lead the nation in market acceptance, providing service to nearly half of the homes passed by Cablevision’s fiber optic network.
Cablevision’s advanced telecommunications offerings include its iO: Interactive Optimum digital television, Optimum Online high-speed Internet, Optimum Voice digital voice-over-cable, and its Optimum Lightpath integrated business communications services.
