Vitendo Delivers Industry's First UMA Softphone
By Anil Sharma TMCnet Contributing Editor Vitendo Systems, Inc., offering technology foe Fixed-Mobile Convergence (News - Alert), has released vFone 4.0, the industry's first UMA-based Softphone for PC applications.
vFone 4.0 is available immediately on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista
“In the battle for capturing the indoor traffic, we believe that FMC-enabled cellular operators are in a perfect position to capture an increased share of the customers total monthly spend and start generating new revenue based on convergence,” Bernard Debbasch, Vitendo's President and CEO said in a press release.
He further added, “the UMA vFone 4.0 offers the familiar look and features of a cell phone, allowing end users to make-and-receive calls and send-and-receive SMS from their laptops/desktops.
